This weekend it was the time for the organization to select their leaders for the next year. I went there just to listen the speeches of the candidates and to see old friends.
I really enjoyed the whole process, you get really inspired by some of the things that the candidates mention in their speeches and it just make me realized that AIESEC is really developing leadership in its members.
Anyway in case you want to know who is the MCP for AIESEC in Belgium 08/09.... VISHAL JODHANI!
I just want to congratulate him and wish him all the best for the coming year.
It was a dream when I decided to apply for a second term as MC member of AIESEC in Belgium. I remember I mention it on my speach and it was my dream to win that cup.
And yesterday it became a reality AIESEC in Belgium won the UBS Excelence Award for WENA. I am so happy!
AIESEC in Belgium rocks! To bad that I was not there to receive the award.... Any way I know that next time we all get together we will celebrate :)
I already posted this video in the past but it is nice to post it again.
On Friday we had our traditional MC transition party :)
The party was very nice with lots of old friends, but in comparison with my other two MC transition parties, this was my last one.
It is a strange feeling knowing that everything is finishing and that things will never be the same.
A good thing that happend during the party is that I got PinPin back :) , one of the LCs had him. Also during the weekend we decided to have our last teamdays in a roadtrip, so we went from Belgium to Denmark by car... I will post more about this tomorrow...
After 4 days in the road (Bonn, Amsterdam and Rotherdam), I am finally back home...
The main reason of this trips were for transition, I went with Stephanie (my succesor) to meet the Global Coordinators of DHL and ABN AMRO. After that I went to the AI transition party.
The whole weekend was amazing, it was nice to see old friends and get updated on what is happening in their life.... but not everything was happy it was also a sad moment since it was the time to say goodbye to many friends, some of them will continue their AIESEC life and some others like me are still wondering what to do next...
I was not so sad since I know somewhere in the world I will see them again... Now I need to go to the office, it is the start of my last week as MCVP of AIESEC in Belgium and for sure it will be a great week.
This weekend I had my last Outgoing Preparation Seminar...
I tried to make this conference the best ever in the history of AIESEC in Belgium and I think I succed in doing that :) The delegates were very happy at the end of the conference and the level of the conference was very high.
On Saturday we had around 25 different nationalities in the plenary... very cool for the future Exchange Participants of AIESEC in Belgium that were able to ask all their questions. Also during the Global Village party 3 LCs were representing Mexico.
Also for part of the weekend Mariana my Mexican friend came to visit me with her friend Caro.
I will really like to thank all the faci team, that besides being great facilitators are my very good friends: Pruthvi, Floor, Juliana, Makis, Ana, Crystal and Rita. I am sure we will be togheter again soon (in two weeks for the AI transition party), THANKS A LOT...
Unfortunatelly not all the weekend was a good news, the last day of the conference just before the closing plenary Pinpin was stolen (Pinpin is the travelling Pinguin I had with me, he went with me to several AIESEC conferences in different parts of the world).
Well maybe it was destiny or something like that that in my last plenary of my "last" AIESEC conference Pinpin got lost, maybe it means that it is just an end to a stage of my life.
Anyway I hope that who ever has Pinpin now can take good care of him....
Thanks to Makis I saw this video that it was done by AIESEC in Monterrey, my original local chapter... and by seeing at the video I do not know anybody there... I guess time goes so fast and things change very fast I remember that during my EB term we wanted to create something like this and now it is great to finally have it
Well I am back in Belgium after a great week in Sweden. As you can see in my last post with the pictures of the participants of the meeting we all look very happy.
After the meeting I stayed for the weekend in Sweden and also some other people flew to Sweden for the weekend, so we had a small friends reunion.
Well I have been in AIESEC for long time and I have been in lots of conferences and for me some of my best experiences were the moments after the conference were you just do some tourisim with other delegates that decided to stay longer (these delegates at the end become good friends of you)... well this weekend was the same and I can say that I loved it. I had so much fun just hanging out with old friends and also some new friends.
I guess that moments like this weekend is the thing I will miss more after leaving AIESEC... Anyway thanks a lot for this great weekend, here are some pics (more pics are on flickr)
Last Friday we had our traditional Alumni Event, this year event was very nice and lots of alumni were present.
After the alumni event we continue the party in the MC flat (no alumni was here, but the MC members and some other people was here), we finish that party around 6 am.
I found a cool program that can make slideshows, so here are some pics of the Alumni Event.
For the last 3 days my aiesec.net mail has not been working! It really sucks since if you send a mail to that account it says nothing about the message not being deliver, so I guess lots of people is contacting me now, waiting for a reply to a mail I never got and I might never recieve...
Well it really sucks, I feel like a part of me is missing without my mail, I know it sounds strange but I have become so dependant to the mail that with out it, it is hard to work.
Yesterday was one of the best days for theeXchange corner in Belgium
You might be asking why??
So here is why...
I put 8 TN on available (4 from ULB in Tech Team, 4 from LLN, 2 in Mckinsey, 1 CRM, 1 Arcelor)
We got 3 TNs match
We got 1 SN in Realized. Laurence SN from ULB started her internship in Cameroon
We got 2 new job descriptions that need to be put in the system (Bridgestone and Sony)
Besides all this I went to represent AIESEC in a meeting with the European Commission, the meeting was very interesting and the output of this meeting will be presented in a public hearing
So because of all this reasons, yesterday was one of the best days for eXchange in Belgium, the only bad point of the day is that I forgot to eat...
We currently have 92exchanges in our term... but we still need48 to reach our goal of140. So keep doingeXchanges
