F1 Singapore Grand Prix

This weekend I went to the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, and I can say it was a great experience...
It was my second time to see F1, the first time was in Germany and I can say this was a much nicer experience. First of all the race was at night, so that created a very intersting atmosphere and also there were many concerts and events during the race.

Some of the pictures are took are HERE

Bye Bye Olympics

I know that the Olympics finished some days ago but I did not had time to post something, since I am a bit busy at the moment.

Well I just love the whole Olympic experience even though it was very difficult to see the events and competitions, since I do not have a TV.... I tried to managed via internet TV but it is a bit hard to get it... specially if you have a mac since you do not have access to live streaming websites, since most of them require Microsoft Media player....

Also it was a bit strange to be out of your country and see the Olympics... I think you get more happy and proud when some athlete can win a medal and you can say to your colleges at work, oh Mexico just won a medal! it is not that we won a lot of medals, only 3 but at least those 3 gave a lot of satisfaction. Now it is just waiting time for the Paraolympic game to start...

Olympic football

Two days ago I had the opportunity to experience something I have not experienced in my 3 years in Belgium.

The Belgium football team was in the semifinals of the olympic tournament and for the first time I saw a lot of people cheering for their national team, even in the office people was talking about football... this is the first time I experienced this, in Mexico it is normal that everybody supports the national team when they play, but here in Belgium no... I have been in two games and in both there have been more fans of the opposite team.

They even put a huge screan in the middle of the Grand Place in order to show the game.... unfortunately the Belgian team lose... so all this suddenly nationalism spirit is over....

Another important thing to notice is that the Olympics are almost over and believe it or not, Belgium still has not won any medal...

ABN AMRO Tennis Tournament

Yesterday I went to my first professional tennis match and it was a very nice game, I also think that tennis is a special sport. I compared it with other professional sports I have attended and I think that it is a very relax athmosphere if you are an expectator, you just clap after the play is over and you need to be quiet for most of the game.

Here is a report of the game:

Frenchman Michael Llodra defeated comeback boy Robin Soderling of Sweden in a three-set thriller to win the 824,000-euro ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on Sunday.

This was the second ATP title of the season for 58th-ranked Llodra, who also won in Adelaide, Australia in January. Only world No. 10 Andy Murray of Britain matched his performance this season.

It took Llodra 2 hours and eight minutes to beat 59th-ranked Soderling, who is on a comeback after being sidelined for six months by a left wrist injury. Llodra won 6-7 (3), 6-3, 7-6 (4).
It has been a dream week for Llodra, who is also good at doubles winning the Wimbledon doubles title last year and reaching the Australian Open doubles final last January.
Soderling, who was in only his second tournament after his comeback last week, was playing in his sixth ATP final. He had won two titles in his career, the last one in Milan in 2005.

Underdog victory

The New York Giants' defensive standout stopped to answer a question about his team, the amazing underdogs who had just pulled off one of the greatest upsets in Super Bowl history. Instead, Pierce decided to talk some trash about the New England Patriots, the team he and the Giants had just vanquished by a 17-14 score.

"This was the death of a dynasty!" the veteran linebacker yelled over the roaring Giants fans who would not, could not leave. "We wore all black, and we killed it."

What, you expected the Giants not to gloat?

In the wake of a stunning Super Bowl XLII victory that not too many people outside their locker room saw coming, the brash New Yorkers reminded everyone how unintimidated they were by their previously undefeated opponents. The Giants will leave Arizona Monday the way they arrived in the desert a week earlier, strutting and chirping and acting like they owned the place – which, in retrospect, they did. FULL STORY

Bonds 756

The last week I was very busy and I had no time to blog about this great event in baseball history.

Barry Bonds broke the record of more home runs in Baseball.
I have seen Barry Bonds play 3 times and in two of them he made a home run :)

Me in the baseball stadium in San Francisco, unfortunately Barry Bonds did not hit a homerun during this game.

Here is a very cool video that shows the moment Barry Bonds broke the record

Yesterday was the final of the mexican soccer league and my favorite team was playing in the final, so I wanted to see the game, after searching on the internet I found a site that transmit online TV and they were going to transmit the game :) , so yesterday I saw the game it started at 2 am Belgian time and finish at 5 am... it was very interesting game but unfortunatelly my team lost...

Well the played good and to be honest I did not expected them to arrive until the final.

So today it is a holiday here in Belgium so I am trying to recover after my non sleep night and also I am trying to study a bit.

Lady Vols! Champions!

Since my trip to Tennessee 4 years ago I am a fan of the University of Tennessee sports, mainly football and basketball, yesterday the woman basketball team won the national championship

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Up the ladder she climbed, and when Pat Summitt was within arm's length of the rim, she clipped the final strand of the net.
In one motion, the coach swung the nylon above her head and pumped her fist in the direction of Tennessee's hootin' and hollerin' fans.
The nine-year drought is over.
The Lady Vols reign again.
Showing it was much more than a one-woman team, the Lady Vols captured an elusive seventh national title Tuesday night, beating Rutgers all over the floor in a 59-46 win to reclaim their customary place above all other programs. Full story here

Playball!!!

Baseball season has just started :) , as I have mention lots of times before, the only thing I do not like of living in Europe is that nobody cares about baseball...

Anyway I will try to follow the Mariners online, this year might be the year they can win the championship.

The nice thing about opening day, all the teams have the same chance of winning...

Lets go M's!!!
