RedBull Air Race! and AI transition party!

This weekend I had a very nice weekend :)

I went to Rotterdam, the main purpose of my trip was to attend the RedBull Air Race... but also this weekend was the traditional AI transition party.

Both events were amazing, it was great to see all the airplaines flying and making all those achrobatics... it is just amazing to see them and also just to listen to the sound of the engines.

The AI transition party was also good, I went only to the Handover party on Saturday night and it was great to see so many old friends :) and catch up with them.

Turkey

Here is the post about my trip to Turkey... Visiting Turkey was a great experience and in a way change the perspective I had from the country.

I think living in the Turkish neighbourhood in Belgium influenced me to have a bad stereotype of Turkey. The country has so many historical places that I did not knew where in Turkey, I was able to discover some during my trip but not all.... (this means I need to go back)

Also the trip was very relaxing, I went to the south of Turkey next to the Mediterranean Sea and I just relax and enjoy :)
I uploaded some of the pics on my facebook photo album

Going to Turkey!

In a few hours I am going for holidays in Turkey :)
I will be there for one week and I plan to visit some friends and also to have some relaxing days in the Mediterranean coast.

It will be interesting to go to Turkey after living for almost 3 years in a Turkish neighborhood here in Brussels.
I can not wait to eat some Kebab in Istanbul :P

Egypt

After a very intense week of tourism I am back in Belgium. Egypt was a great experience, I always wanted to see all those places I read in history class.

The trip was great but just a bit intense, I only had 6 days to see as many things as possible so I waked up very early every day in order to see a lot of things and also in order to save time I was traveling from one place to another by night. I think I slept like 10 hours during the whole trip, but it was worth it.
Now is again time to get use to normal life, but only for a while the next trip is in one week... Turkey

I will be there until Sunday...

Morocco!

I just came back from one of the more amazing trips I have ever had in my life.
Morocco is a very interesting country with lots of interesting things to do and visit.
Shopping there is an amazing experience, you need to bargain for everything.... I personally do not like bargaining but it is fun to do it from time to time.

Something that I really liked was the food, they have really amazing dishes and in a way it remind me of mexican food (mainly for the spicy things). They have a lot of fruits and something that I really loved was that you could drink fresh orange juice almost for free. (Not like in Belgium where a glass of juice cost around 3 euros)

It was the first time I was in North Africa and I can say that it is completely different to the other places I have been in Africa.
I will upload pictures and more stories about the trip soon

Spain

I just came back from Spain and it was again a great experience, Spain is the most similar country in Europe to Mexico, so in a way was a bit like being back home. I also went to a very nice Mexican restaurant, I think it is the best one I have been in Europe.

The purpose of this trip was not to go and walk like crazy doing some sight seeing, the whole trip for me was to get to know better some friends and also to visit some old friends and I think I achieved this objective.
I had so much fun this weekend :)

Scotland!

I just came back from Scotland and I can say that I had an amazing time there.
The country is very pretty, there are so many things to do and to see, also the country is full of history, so many castles and battles fields that just to be able to be in such historic places is priceless (I just sound like a mastercard add). I also went to Loch Ness, where Nessy is supposed to be living, but unfortunatelly I was not able to see her...

The whole trip was perfect and I enjoy it so much, even the terrible experience of flying from Brussels Charleroi Airport, there is a new terminal that is very cool and it makes it fell like a normal airport.

RealAcad recap

Well it has been already 3 days since RealAcad finished and I still have very strange feeling.
I learned a lot during the camp, but now I am trying to think how to implement what I learned in my life...

The camp was amazing and the people there really left an impact in me, I really hope to see them again soon. All of them are AMAZING individuals.

Tonight I go back to Mexico, I am really looking forward on being back home

Road Trip to Denmark

For our last teamdays we decided to rent a car and just drive around Europe, the only thing we knew is that we wanted to go to Denmark.

So we drive for almost 12 hours in order to arrive there... it was an amazing experience just chilling out in the car, eating, talking and drinking.

We ended our teamdays just below the Atomium in Brussels, where we shared our experiences as MC members and our term.

Here are some pictures of the trip

Transition trips and Transition party

After 4 days in the road (Bonn, Amsterdam and Rotherdam), I am finally back home...

The main reason of this trips were for transition, I went with Stephanie (my succesor) to meet the Global Coordinators of DHL and ABN AMRO. After that I went to the AI transition party.

The whole weekend was amazing, it was nice to see old friends and get updated on what is happening in their life.... but not everything was happy it was also a sad moment since it was the time to say goodbye to many friends, some of them will continue their AIESEC life and some others like me are still wondering what to do next...

I was not so sad since I know somewhere in the world I will see them again...
Now I need to go to the office, it is the start of my last week as MCVP of AIESEC in Belgium and for sure it will be a great week.

WoW London!

Well this weekend I went to London and it was an amazing experience...

I never imagine London was such a cool city (I have been living in Europe for almost 3 years and I never wanted to go there, but now I really regret of not being there before)
Here are some highlights of the trip:

FRIDAY
I went to the AIESEC UK Annual Review Boat party. The party was amazing it was a great atmosphere and it was great to see some old friends, but also to meet some new friends.

SATURDAY
I went mainly to do some tourism, there are so many things to see in London.... that I had not enough time to see all.
The coolest thing of Saturday was that I went to a the "We will rock you" musical, it was amazing! I have never seen a show so cool...
In the night we went to have some drinks in the middle of Piccadilly square with some friends.

SUNDAY

I was very tired on Sunday, so we just chilled out going to the market. The good thing is that on Sunday I saw Lola (she was CEEDer in Monterrey 4 years ago), thanks to Facebook I got in touch again with her.

Well this weekend was great and I can not wait to go again to London...

AIESEC = Friends

Well I am back in Belgium after a great week in Sweden. As you can see in my last post with the pictures of the participants of the meeting we all look very happy.

After the meeting I stayed for the weekend in Sweden and also some other people flew to Sweden for the weekend, so we had a small friends reunion.

Well I have been in AIESEC for long time and I have been in lots of conferences and for me some of my best experiences were the moments after the conference were you just do some tourisim with other delegates that decided to stay longer (these delegates at the end become good friends of you)... well this weekend was the same and I can say that I loved it. I had so much fun just hanging out with old friends and also some new friends.

I guess that moments like this weekend is the thing I will miss more after leaving AIESEC...
Anyway thanks a lot for this great weekend, here are some pics (more pics are on flickr)

In Sweden

Well it has been 3 days since I am in Sweden and I can say that until now everything is fine...
the WENA exchange meeting is going very well and it is very nice to see my collegues VPs and just talk about our problems and what we can to do solve them.

Unfortunatelly I have not seen anything from the city, we are all the day in the meeting and in the night we just go for a a drink, but the meeting is finishing today so starting tomorrow I will start my tourism trip.

That is all for now, we need to leave now to the Electrolux building that is 30 min away from the place we are staying.

Ireland Update

After a 4 days trip in Dublin, Ireland, I am back in Belgium (only for one day since tomorrow I go to Sweden)

Well here is a small update of what happend in Ireland, at the biggining I did not liked the city so much but after 2 days I really liked Dublin. I think it is a very dynamic city with lots of things to do (specially if you want to drink).

What I liked the most of Dublin is that you are not allowed to smoke even inside the bars, so on Saturday when we went out it was the first time that I went out of the bar and my clothes were not smelling horrible.
Also I love that everything is open on Sundays, not like in other parts of Europe where everythings is closed.

These trip was full of surprises and cool things, like sleeping in the airport, playing RISK in the airport, party hard Irish style, long walks in the city, nice food (I love fish and chips), nice drinks and many other things...

Here is a small slide show of some pics of the trip, I will upload others in my flickr account...

Table Mountain

This is the last update from South Africa, tomorrow I go back to Belgium :(
Well today I went to Table Mountain, you might be thinking why is it called Table Mountain but the reason of that is that it looks like a table, you can see it on the picture and judge it by yourself...
The mountain is great, you have spectacular views from up there...

After the trip to the mountain, we went to the Waterfront just to relax and enjoy our last day in Cape Town.
I went to the aquarium and also I went to cut my hair, it was more cheaper than in Belgium.
You might be wondering why I am all the time writing in plural (we went to...), well during my trip here in Cape Town I am together with a Greek girl, her name is Santi and she is doing an internship in Nigeria, she was also delegate at AfroXLDS, she has been my travel buddy for this last days and I can say we had lots of fun...

Cape Point

Here is my latest update from South Africa, well the things here keep getting better and better :) .
As I mention on my last post today I went to Cape of Good Hope and it was great, the tour I took was the best I have ever taken in my life, it is a whole day bus but they take you all around the peninsula.
I saw an island full of seals... I discover that there are penguins in South Africa (I thought penguins were only in snow, but no...)

Then during the tour we took a bicycle tour and it was great :)

Then we went to the Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope and it was great, it was very windy but the experience is amazing (Cape Point is the second windiest place in the world and the winds were around 70 kilometers per hour).

I took so many pictures and I will upload the best ones to my flickr...
This day was amazing! I really love South Africa (I want to stay here forever)

Cape Town

Now that AfroXLDS is over :(

I am in Cape Town and I can say it is a great city. Today I went to Robben Island, the waterfront, the beach... and I love it.

I do not feel like being in Africa, this city seems like a European city.
Well tomorrow I will go to the Cape of Good Hope, it is where the Pacific and the Indic ocean get together, I remember when I was in high school in my geography class we talked some classes about the Cape of Good Hope (I can not believe that I will be there tomorrow).

This picture is of a Belgian food restaurant here in Cape Town, I was very surprised to see it since in all my trips I have never seen a Belgian restaurant.
BTW I also find a Mexican restaurant, but I guess every town in the world has one so I did not took a picture...

Lille

As I mention in my last post, this weekend I went to Lille.

It was a very nice weekend, just walking and talking around (doing some tourism)

I tought that Lille was a bigger city but no, I saw the whole city in one day and a half and I went walking from one side to another.

Anyway now I am back in Brussels and ready to start a busy week tomorrow...
