Cameroon

After 10 amazing days in Cameroon, I am back in my office here in Brussels just thinking and reflecting in the past 10 days.
Well being in Cameroon was great!
The conference was amazing! I am very happy I will continue working in AIESEC for the next year because there are lots of things that will happend and I can say I will put my part to try to achieve the AIESEC we all want to see in 2010.
Well also being in Cameroon help me understand more the African culture (that is very rich and very interesting), during the conference we had a session called Afronet lead by Tom where people from Africa where giving their opinions about Africa and also the internationals where giving their opinions about Africa.
Another thing that I experienced is that most of the sterotyphes I had about Africa where true, people is very very poor, lots of corruption, lots of insecurity, etc. But the good thing is that people is trying to change that, at least the AIESEC members there, they want to become change agents and help their contienent.
Well I will post more about Africa in the future, I can say that now I am very interested in this continent and I will like to do something to help them. Now I need to continue working since we have a National Conference this weekend.

In Cameroon

Hey everybody!
Today is my third day in Cameroon and I can say that until now it had been a great experience.
Some of the main things I have noticed here are:
- It is extrely hot, today we are around 40
- People is very very friendly
- Police is not so friendly, yesterday while walking in the market they stop us to check our passports
- Food is great, yesterday me and Amritha went to eat something in the street it was great but now Amritha is sick. Luckly I am not sick
- In the preacomodation hotel there is a casino and a stripclub, so every night we go to chill out there

Well I will post more when I have more time, now I am in a cyber cafe and my time is over.
Tomorrow conference start so it will be very cool

greetings from Africa

EuroLDS official dinner

Yesterday I went to the EuroLDS official dinner and it was very nice, it was nice to see Maria (Coral for the mexicans), Migz, Eva, Paola, Amit and the 200 delegates there.
Food was great!
Also the day before I went to the Global Village party and it was awsome, it was one of the best Global Villages I have ever been, there are lots of gossips and rumors about me, but not everything is true.

Well now I need to go packing because I go to Cameroon tomorrow morning.
Cu and my next post will be from Africa

50 cents

Yesterday I went to see the movie "Get Rich or die trying" I had no idea what was the movie about, when I was in the movie I saw that it a movie about rap gangsters and 50 cent is there.
I did not liked 50 cent but after watching the movie I like him, I am downloading songs from him now.
The movie tells the story about some rap gangsters, I will not tell more about the movie but I recommend you to see it.
This post is dedicated to 50 Cents

Belgium MC 2006 -2007

Well yesterday were the selections for the MC 2006 - 2007 and here are the results:

Daniel Rosca (Romania) MCVP People Development
Christiane Moeschler (Germany) MCVP External Relations
Pedro Aguirre (Mexico/Belgium) MCVP Exchange Management
Makis Karras (Greece) MCVP Finance
Tijs Quartier (Belgium) MC Project Manager
Elie Naudts (Belgium) MCP

This means that I am again in the MC of Belgium for the next year :)
I will have a new very challenging possition, exchange management is actually ICX and OGX together, so it will be so cool.

Yesterday while waiting for the results I did lots of personal reflexion and I know now what I want to achieve in my life for the next 2 years. I do not a very long term vision but for me working in 2 years plans have brought me good results.

You know also pretty ironic also one year ago was when I got selected for the MC in Belgium, you can see the story here

That is all for now
take care

It happend again

Well as you have read in my last post this week has been very crazy.
Yesterday it was again a very busy day, I went to the embassy of Cameroon to get my visa to go there in 2 weeks and it was a very strange experience the embassy is not like any other I have seen before, at the biggining it seemed that we were going to have lots of troubles but at the end we will get our visa next Wednesday.

In the night I went to the movies with Amritha and I tried to pay my ticket with my gym card :S , I am getting crazy here.

Well tomorrow are MC selections so we will see what will happend
